DESCRIPTION: Switzerland, for George Carley & Co., London, pivoted detent pocket chronometer with helical balance spring, 17- 18 jewels, stem wind and lever set gilt plate movement with pivoted detent escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold timing screws, and helical balance spring, in a sterling silver, hinged back and bezel demi hunting case, with blue enamel Roman numerals on front cover, and Arabic numeral, single sunk white enamel dial, blued steel spade and poker hands, serial #51159, 53mm, c1900.
CONDITION: CASE: Minor dent, back; Dings and pin pricks; Scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Bow with wear; Minor loss to enamel on case front; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Small fracture with glued chips, 5:30. HANDS: Very good. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Small group of punch marks near barrel arbor; Minor marring to edge of top plate; Regulator with speck of oxide; Very dirty. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks), needs service.
